Aroyewun Solicits Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA’s Xtian Community’s Support For APC Candidates

The Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA). Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, (HOA), has solicited the support of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), for the candidates of the ruling party in the forthcoming Local Government Elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025.

He made the appeal during a parley with the leadership of CAN, at a meeting held at the United African Methodist Church (Eleja) Cathedral, Igbogbo.

Aroyewun also expressed his appreciation to the association for its unwavering support and spiritual contributions through the preaching of the gospel across the LCDA. He acknowledged their roles in sustaining peace and fostering unity.

“Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA remains peaceful because of your impact, your prayers, and your divine guidance”, he said.

He used the opportunity to solicit the association’s support ahead of the forthcoming local government elections, assuring them of inclusive and responsive governance.

The APC candidate also presented his ‘GLORY’ Agenda, which he said focuses on transforming Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA into a secure, progressive, and people -centered community.

Speaking on the recent security challenges, particularly the kidnappings at Igbe communities situated between Igbogbo/Bayeku and Ijede LCDAs, Aroyewun revealed that there are plans for military, police and other security agencies interventions to stem the kidnappings.

He further stated that Hon. Babajimi Benson alongside the Igbogbo/Baiyeku and Ijede LCDA and other community stakeholders, have taken steps to restore peace by providing various measures, including military presence and operations in critical areas witnessing the nefarious activities.

Princess Saidat Adeoba, APC Councillorship candidate for Ward C3, who was part of the team, on behalf of other Councillorship candidates, also appreciated the Christian community and promised to work in synergy with the Chairmanship candidate when elected to achieve meaningful progress for Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA

Responding, the CAN Chairman in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Pastor Ojo, commended Aroyewun and his team for what he called a thoughtful visit. He reaffirmed CAN’s commitment to continually pray for the peace and progress in the community.

He said that the body comprises ten (10) active zones in the council, and that they work in unity not just within the Christian body, but also in harmony with the Muslim community, while stressing that peace and collaboration remain the body’s goal.

He also commended the incumbent Chairman, Bldr. Olusesan Daini, for his unwavering support for the Christian community and encouraged the incoming chairman to remain prayerful and receptive to divine direction.

“We will continue to intercede for Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA. May God grant the incoming administration wisdom and strength to lead right,” Pastor Ojo added.

Special prayers were offered for the Chairmanship candidate during the meeting.

Also part of the team were Mr. Yusuf Bello, Councillorship candidate Ward C4, Mr. Ipaye Taofeek, a former Councillorship aspirant, Hon. Daud Oshinlaja, a Supervisor, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Mr. Adeleke Soberu, HOA supporter, Alhaji Quddus Oduntan, APC Secretary, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA among others.
